Curriculum Vitae - Peter D. Laventhall

Education & Experience:

Art, and in particular art photography, have been Peter’s passion throughout his life.  Though not formally trained in photography, Peter has worked on his technical skills and proficiency with the camera over the past 25 years and has received coaching from mentors including professionals such as Peter Walker (Toronto Film Festival – ‘Dying at Grace’ – cinematography). With tutelage and experience he has continued to hone his photographic eye and has taken every opportunity to add to his body of work.

Formally educated as an Electrical Design Engineer at Ryerson University , he graduated in 1988. Following a successful career in engineering, Peter left the field after ten years to pursue a career in Sales and Marketing. Both of these experiences have offered creative outlets for his artistic talents as he continued to pursue his art on his personal time. For the past 10 years he has co-owned and operated a successful printing and graphic design firm in downtown Toronto .

At present, Peter is pursuing his career in art photography and has actively promoted his portfolio over the past 2 years.
